Our first date took place at Naïv, a beautiful bar nestled near the famous Main River. Abhi had originally suggested meeting at McDonald’s at Frankfurt Central Station—clearly not the most romantic choice. Thankfully, Mareile had a better idea and chose Naïv instead. What started as a simple meeting turned into hours of conversation, as we talked about everything—from life and travel to cricket and India—without even noticing how quickly time passed.
Our first vacation together was a dream come true in Greece. We explored the enchanting islands of Santorini, Mykonos, Milos, and Paros—each more breathtaking than the last. In Santorini, we savored the golden sunsets, hand in hand, as the sky blazed with color. Mykonos charmed us with its picturesque village, where blue-washed walls and vibrant flowers felt like a fairytale. And Milos and Paros gifted us with the purest beaches, soft sands, and endless serenity. The walk from Fira to Oia village is still the most magical walk we have ever taken—and the best part is, Abhi made it with Mareile. Every moment was simply perfect—just like us.
So how did Mark pop the question? On a Cruise … off the shore … of the Cayman Islands! (YES!) On their way down to dinner with the Ship’s Captain, Mark’s nerves got the best of him and he pulled Sarah back to the room and straight onto the balcony for the best proposal a girl could ask for!
